Join Our TÜBİTAK Research Project on Terpene-Based Materials
We are seeking highly motivated M.Sc. students (research scholars) to join our newly funded TÜBİTAK research project entitled:
“Preparation of Terpene-Based Ferroelectret PolyHIPEs and Their Applications as Pressure Sensors”
The project focuses on the development of sustainable porous polymer materials derived from terpene-based monomers through high internal phase emulsion (HIPE) templating and their utilization as ferroelectret materials for advanced pressure sensing applications.
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in:
- Polymer synthesis and characterization
- High internal phase emulsions (HIPEs) and PolyHIPE technology
- Functional porous materials
- Pressure sensor fabrication and testing
- Materials characterization techniques (SEM, FTIR, thermal analysis, mechanical testing, etc.)
- Scientific writing and publication
Qualifications
- Enrollment in or eligibility for an M.Sc. program in Polymer Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related disciplines.
- Strong interest in polymeric materials, functional materials, and sensor technologies.
- Motivation to conduct experimental research and work in a multidisciplinary environment.
The project offers TÜBİTAK scholarship support, research training, and opportunities for academic publication and conference participation.
Interested candidates are encouraged to send their CV, academic transcript, and a brief statement of interest via email (gamze.berkem@yalova.edu.tr).
We welcome enthusiastic students who are eager to contribute to innovative research at the intersection of sustainable polymers and sensor technologies.
