Prof. Dr. E. Hilal MERT

Dr. E. Hilal Mert graduated from the Chemistry Department of Ege University with a BS in Chemistry. She received her MSc and PhD from the Chemistry Department of Yildiz Technical University. She became Research Assistant at the Polymer Engineering Department of Yalova University when she was studying her PhD in 2009. During her PhD, she focused on the synthesis of polyHIPE monoliths and beads from HIPEs prepared from unsaturated polyester resin. During her PhD, she worked as an Erasmus student in Klaus Tauer’s laboratory, for 6 months at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces (MPICI).  After she received her PhD in 2010, she studied as a post-doc at Prof. Dr. Peter Krajnc’s lab (PolyOrg Lab) at the University of Maribor. In the meantime, she was concentrated on the synthesis of polydicyclopentadiene (polyDCPD)-based polyHIPEs. She became an Assistant Professor in the Polymer Engineering Department of Yalova University in 2011. In 2016, she became a docent at the same department. In 2021 she was promoted as Full Professor in the Department of Polymer Materials Engineering of Yalova University.
