Group Members

Meltem Sözbir

Meltem recieved her BSc degree in Polymer Engineering from Yalova University in 2019. She joined the group in 2021 as a MSc student and defended her thesis in July 2023. During her MSc, she studied development of terpene-based polymer microspheres via photo-initiated suspension polymerization.

Meltem is a PhD scholar now. As a part of her PhD, she has focused on the preparation of composite phase change materials from petroleum-based and bio-based monomers.

She is currently working as an Instructor at Çınarcık Community College of Yalova University.

Rumeysa Beyaz

Rumeysa is a Polymer Engineer. She received her BSc in 2017 from the Polymer Engineering Department of Yalova University. Then she studied at the same Department on improving thermal conductivity of polyamide composites. She received her MSc degree in 2020. Afterwards, she joined the group. She is now a PhD student and studying synthesis of piezoresistive polyHIPEs from terpenes.

Öznur Emeklioğlu

Öznur is graduated from the Chemistry Department of Middle East Technical University (ODTÜ). After her graduation she has started working as a R&D Specialist in textile auxiliaries at Rudolf-Duraner Turkey. She is a member of our research group since 2014. She has been studying on polyurethane dispersions. Öznur received her MSc in Polymer Engineering at 2019 and she is a PhD student since 2021. Within the scope of her PhD, she is conducting research on fluorine free polymeric water repellents for textile applications.
